  • Strolling around the garden in a rainy autumn day ☔️ 🍁
  • #inflower

We’ve slowly been increasing our summer flowering plants as we had very little colour at this time of year. Scroll through to see the “volunteer” poppy that decided to help us out by popping up in our outdoor tiles!

  • RETURN OF THE PRIMULA!

The primula borders were a standout feature of the garden. Carefully tended, with varieties brought over from Scotland, there was a primula for every spot in the garden. Sadly the local wildlife also find them very tasty, and we had not seen a single flower in 7 years. Until this year! With the wallabies fenced out these little battlers surprised us by popping up all over the place. Here are just a few, as well as some photos of the borders in their hey day.

  • Watching ‘Quoll Farm” last night (you can catch it on #abciview) reminded me that I hadn’t shared these videos from last year. Our devils moved out and a quoll mum moved in and raised 3 beautiful babies. We had a lot of fun watching their antics. We’ve heard snoring, scratching and sneezing from under the lounge room floor this year as well - fingers x’ed for another batch of #easternquoll babies.

  • This beautiful creature is Austrocaligula helena - the Helena gum moth. Apparently also attracted to Christmas lights! See the second photo for size reference - it’s huge!
